La traviata on the world's largest lake stage
The 80th season of the Bregenz Festival is a special kind of anniversary. For the first time, Verdi’s opera classic La traviata will be performed on the world-famous lake stage on Lake Constance. The premiere is on July 22, 2026 – staged by Damiano Michieletto, under the musical direction of Kirill Karabits and Pietro Rizzo.
The Excursions of Mr. Brouček by Leoš Janáček celebrates its premiere at the Festspielhaus on July 23, 2026. It will be directed by the American director Yuval Sharon, with Robert Jindra as musical director.
The anniversary program also includes:

There are several options from Dornbirn to Bregenz:
By train (recommended):
From Dornbirn train station (300 m from the hotel) the regional train goes directly to Bregenz – journey time approx. 8 minutes. The Festspielhaus is just a few minutes’ walk from Bregenz train station.
By car:
Bregenz can be reached via the A14 in approx. 14 minutes. Please note: There may be increased traffic during the festival season. Parking spaces in Bregenz are limited (currently also reduced due to construction work). The train is more relaxed.

harry’s home Dornbirn is located at Klostergasse 8, right next to Dornbirn train station. You can reach Bregenz in about 15 minutes by regional train. The Festspielhaus Bregenz is just a few minutes’ walk from Bregenz train station. The journey by car takes approx. 14 minutes.

During the 2026 festival season, only limited parking spaces will be available directly at the Festspielhaus due to construction work on the new Bregenz lakeside resort. The Festspielhaus is just a few minutes’ walk from Bregenz railroad station. Traveling by train from Dornbirn (15 minutes) is more comfortable and less stressful. The hotel offers underground parking spaces with direct access to the hotel.
Yes – pets are welcome at harry’s home Dornbirn. Please specify when booking. Food for the pet is not included in the pet surcharge.
The Seebühne is an open-air venue. The festival also plays in the rain. Recommendation: warm, rainproof clothing and a rain cape instead of an umbrella (umbrellas obstruct the view). In the Festspielhaus, elegant everyday attire applies; evening wear is welcome, but not a must.
